Luke Franklin recently accepted an award on behalf of Bishopp Outdoor Advertising from Superintendent Ray Brownhill, representing the Queensland Police Force’s Northern Region in recognition of their ongoing support of the ‘Don’t meet us by accident’ road safety campaign.
The campaign began in 2015 after the tragic deaths of 31 people in Far North Queensland as a result of traffic accidents. Bishopp donates sites in high incidence areas to visually remind drivers of the consequences of the ‘Fatal Five’; drink driving, drug driving, fatigue, inattention, seat belt use and speeding.
The visual nature and immediacy of the campaign has led to a decline in fatalities and has had a significant affect of modifying driver behaviour. Bishopp takes its community obligations seriously and is proud of its continued support for this worthy programme.
