QANTAS flights to Ballina Airport has returned, providing a daily service to and from the booming tourism spot in northern New South Wales.
Starting 29 March, the airline will add an extra 36,000 seats annually to the regional airport, servicing the increasing number of local and international tourists to the popular spot of Byron Bay.
Byron Bay sees an average of 2,000 visitors a year, building popularity in the last few years as international stars such as Chris Hemsworth and Mark Wahlberg choose to call the area home.
Deemed a new tourism hot spot featuring luxury hotels, scenic beaches and fresh seafood, the region is perfect for both weekend getaways and longer stays.
The addition of QANTAS in the airport – along with existing airlines including Jetstar and Virgin Australia – is also a new opportunity to encourage Australians to stay and buy local, in the wake of the bushfires disasters.
