BBC: Bishopp Billboard Constructions

Bishopp Billboard Constructions (BBC) is the construction arm of Bishopp Outdoor Advertising. All Bishopp structures are designed in-house and constructed by our qualified, professional team. They hold a collaborative approach to design to ensure the completed billboard structures’ safety, practicality and aesthetics.

Between our construction team members, we hold over 50 years of commercial construction experience. Establishing a site, preparing the footings, building the upper assembly and lifting it into place is managed by our competent crew, who are aptly skilled to do so.

All Bishopp billboards are built to Australian Standards and certified by a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) engineer. Safety on our construction sites is paramount; all staff hold relevant tickets and qualifications and attend regular training sessions. We pride ourselves on delivering quality products with a high level of professionalism without compromising safety. We also hold all relevant approval documentation for roadside and rail corridor works, including Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR) road corridor permits and Queensland Rail rail access cards.

The Electrical Safety Awards

The Safe Work and Return to Work Awards recognises and celebrates outstanding work health and safety and return to work achievements.

Our use of best practice, safety in design and visual prompts greatly reduce the chance of injury to an installer whilst working near overhead powerlines. As a result of our commitment to our expert safety protocols, we have been nominated as a finalist in the 2017 Queensland Government Electrical Safety Awards. This news comes at a very appropriate time, as next week is Electrical Safety Week in Queensland!

The categories that we are finalists in are:

Category three: Best solution to an identified electrical issue

  • Bishopp Billboards – Kelvin Grove

Category six: Best demonstrated leadership in work health and safety

  • Bishopp Billboards – Kelvin Grove

Today, the Industrial Relations Minister Grace Grace announced the finalists at our very own Bishopp Billboard Construction site at 54 Bishop Street, Kelvin Grove (photo above).

Safety Ambassador, Shane Webcke, will announce the winners at the Safe Work and Return to Work Awards Ceremony on 18 October at the Royal International Convention Centre (RICC), Brisbane Showgrounds, Bowen Hills. In the interim, we are delighted to be a part of such a great initiative to ensure our workers are always safe and well looked after.
